A teenage boy has been told to live out of Staffordshire after he was accused of committing a sex crime at a skate park. It comes after a 16-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted on Sunday, October 20.

A boy, 16, was arrested and questioned by police over the Yarnfield skate park incident. He has since been bailed with instructions not to enter Staffordshire.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "The 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of sexual assault following an incident in Yarnfield has been bailed outside of Staffordshire with strict conditions.

"At 3.35pm on Sunday 20 October, officers were called to an area near Yarnfield skate park following reports that a girl in her early teens had been sexually assaulted. Officers worked quickly to carry out enquiries and make an arrest.

"The girl is continuing to receive support from specially-trained officers at this time. The 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has since been bailed with conditions and is not currently residing in Staffordshire.

"We’ve got a robust patrol strategy in place and will be continuing to provide extra reassurance to local residents."

Staffordshire Police and the Ministry of Defence are attending a meeting of Yarnfield and Cold Meece Parish Council following the weekend attack. A council spokesman said: "Due to exceptional circumstances the first part of the meeting will be given over to the police and staff from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to give presentations.

"There will then be an opportunity to ask questions. Because of legitimate security concerns, and on advice from the police and MoD, this part of the meeting will not be broadcast."

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the sex attack. They should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 467 of 20 October, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
