Police hunting a Birmingham man wanted over an alleged attack 20 miles away in Warwickshire have made an arrest. Officers had launched an appeal about an assault and criminal damage.

Warwickshire Police said they wanted to locate a man after an incident in Atherstone. The force had urged members of the public to dial 999 as part of the appeal over the weekend.

Now, a 27-year-old man has been located and held by police in relation to the case. Police inquiries are ongoing.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Warwickshire Police posted today, Monday, October 14: "Thank you for sharing our appeal to locate a 27-year-old man from Birmingham, wanted in relation to assault and criminal damage. He has now been located and arrested. #WantedInWarwickshire."
