Bescot railway station stabbing suspect sees charge changed after woman dies

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was 'stabbed' at a Black Country railway station. Rhiannon Skye Whyte died following an alleged attack at Bescot Stadium.

The 27-year-old was found injured just before 11.30pm on Sunday, October 20, and was taken to hospital, where she died three days later. Deng Cholmajek, 18, of Bescot Crescent, Walsall, was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted murder.

However his charges have now been amended to murder, police have said. He was next due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on November 19.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that following the passing of Rhiannon Skye Whyte on October 23, the charges against Deng Chol Majek, 18, of Bescot Crescent, Walsall have been amended to murder. He is next due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 19 November.

"Chol Majek was initially charged with attempted murder but the victim, Rhiannon Whyte, sadly died."
