Brierley Hill stabbing police charge boy, 16, over attack

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with wounding and possession of an offensive weapon, West Midlands Police said

A teenager has been charged over a stabbing that left an 18-year-old man seriously injured. The incident happened on High Street in Brierley Hill at around 6.30pm on Thursday, October 10.

West Midlands Police said a 16-year-old boy been charged with wounding and possession of an offensive weapon. He was remanded in custody and due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Saturday, October 12.

The force also arrested an 18-year-old woman in connection with the incident. She has since bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.

The injured man remains in hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Officers urged anybody with further information to get in touch.

A force spokesperson said: "We've increased reassurance patrols in the area but we're not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
