Birmingham man to face attempted murder charges after gun fired

A man has appeared in court after a gun was allegedly fired during disorder in Birmingham. Police attended an incident on the junction of Witton Road and Endicott Road on Saturday (October 12).

Kye Lemathy, 21, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (October 17) after being charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The 21-year-old was remanded in custody and will appear at Birmingham Crown Court on November 14. A statement by West Midlands Police said: "A man has appeared in court today following an investigation into a disorder in Aston where a gun was fired.

"Kye Lemathy appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court today after being charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

"The 21-year-old was remanded in custody and will appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 14 November. We launched an investigation after we were called to a disorder on the junction of Witton Road and Endicott Road on Saturday (12 October).

"A man was treated for stab wounds and a 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and later bailed pending further enquiries."
