by · Birmingham Live

Police have issued an appeal for information after a sexual assault on board a Birmingham-bound train. Sharing an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, detectives asked the public: "Do you recognise this man?"

The incident is alleged to have taken place on Saturday, July 27 at around 6.30pm. British Transport Police said the victim boarded the train to Birmingham New Street Station at Liverpool Lime Street.

Shortly after finding a seat in a carriage, a man sat next to her, sexually assaulted her and asked "inappropriate questions", BTP said. Detectives believe the man in the photo may have information that could assist the ongoing probe.
