‘Road rage attack’ probe near Telford Shell petrol station prompts police appeal

The incident took place near the Shell garage on the B5061, Holyhead Road in Telford on Sunday, November 3.
An incident occurred between the two car drivers at around 10.50am. A man smashed a front driver side window of a vehicle before getting back in his own car, it was claimed.
The two vehicles carried along when the same man is said to have got back out of his car and 'thrown a jack handle through the passenger side window of the victim’s car striking them on the head'.

West Mercia Police arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of assault and criminal damage. He has since been released on police bail.
Now police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward. A spokesperson for the West Mercia force said: “Can you help?
“Officers are appealing for witnesses following an assault and criminal damage incident in Telford on Sunday 3 November. At around 10.50am, an incident involving the drivers of two cars occurred near to the Shell garage on the B5061, Holyhead Road.
“A man smashed a front driver side window of a vehicle before getting back in his own car. Both vehicles continued along the road before the man got back out of his car and threw a jack handle through the passenger side window of the victim’s car. The victim was struck on the head causing a lump.”
