PROVO — Three people were injured in a crash in Provo Tuesday afternoon.

About 3:15 p.m., a southbound Nissan truck was on State Street when a Toyota Scion turned left in front of the truck at 1720 North, Provo police spokeswoman Janna-Lee Holland said. The cars collided, and both drivers had to be extracted from their vehicles.

The truck driver and a passenger sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Utah Valley Hospital, police said.

The Scion driver received serious injuries that police initially said were life-threatening. He was taken the hospital, and as of 8 p.m., he had been stabilized.
