Man charged after taking a shower at the wrong home

by · CityNews

Ottawa police are reminding people to keep their doors locked after a man unlawfully entered a home in the city’s east end.

It happened Oct. 16, when a man in his 30s entered the residence through an unlocked door at 4:50 a.m. He ended up taking a shower.

The homeowner called officers.

Police say the man “mistakenly” thought the residence was of someone he knew. Nothing was stolen and no one was injured in the incident. He was charged with being unlawfully in dwelling-house.

“This is a reminder to ensure your doors are locked,” officials said.
