Man found dead behind supermarket in Kuching

KUCHING (Nov 4): A 29-year-old man was found dead near a garbage disposal area behind a supermarket here last night.

Kuching Chief Police ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the police received a report on the discovery around 7.50pm, and personnel from Sekama police station were rushed to the scene.

“According to the report, the man was found lying face down and unconscious near a garbage disposal area behind a supermarket here,” he said in a statement today.

“Upon arrival, the police found that the individual was unresponsive and had injuries on several parts of his body.”

Mohd Farhan said that paramedics arrived at the location around 8.25pm and confirmed that the man had passed away.

“The deceased’s body was sent to the Forensic Department at Sarawak General Hospital for an autopsy. A sudden death report (SDR) has been opened in connection with the incident.”

He urged the public not to speculate about the incident and requested anyone who witnessed it or has information related to it to contact the investigating officer, SM Rogayah Abu Serah at 016-5779574 or visit the nearest police station.
