Police are hunting a man in his 20s following two sexually motivated knifepoint attacks in the space of just two days.

A woman was walking her dog in the Top of the Hill Park area just before 3pm on Saturday, police said. She was then apprached by a man ith a kitchen knife who "grabbed" her, but she defended herself with her dog lead and called out, leading the attacker to "run off".

A PSNI spokesperson said detectives are "investigating the possibility" the attack is linked to a similar attack in the Drumahoe area less than 24-hours earlier, on Friday night. A "focused, tactical patrolling plan" is in place as the PSNI hopes to address concerns.
