Police close road as three men hurt after car ploughs into wall

Three men were left hurt after a car ploughed into a wall in Middleton in the early hours of this morning.

The smash happened on Clough Road at around 1.20am, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said. Emergency services raced to the scene and closed off a stretch of the road after the crash.

Three men were injured, though their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, the police spokesperson added. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

A stretch of Clough Road was closed for several hours overnight between Boarshaw Clough Way and Boarshaw Road. A picture taken at the scene showed a badly damaged car with its front crashed into a wall lining the pavement.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 1.20am this morning (19 September), we were called to reports of a collision between a car and a wall on Clough Road, Middleton. Three men suffered injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or changing at this time. Enquiries are ongoing."
