Woman taken to hospital after being cut from car following crash

Emergency services were called to the scene in Edge Lane, Stretford, shortly after 8.35am today (Thursday). Two cars were involved in the crash, according to Greater Manchester Police.
Firefighters cut a person free from one of the vehicles before a woman was taken to hospital. Police say her injuries were not "life-threatening or life-changing".

Edge Lane, which links Stretford and Chorlton, was closed by police for more than an hour following the incident. Bus services in the area were diverted as a result.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just after 8.35am on Thursday (October 31) two fire engines from Stretford and Sale fire engines plus the enhanced rescue unit from Leigh fire station were called to a crash involving two vehicles on Edge Lane, Stretford.
“Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to rescue a person from one of the vehicles before handing them to the care of colleagues from North West Ambulance Service. Crews were in attendance for around one hour and 20 minutes.”
