Woman, 74, in serious condition after being hit by Land Rover driver
by James Holt · Manchester Evening NewsA 74-year-old woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a Land Rover in Cheshire. The pensioner was struck at around 5pm on November 6, along the Clayton Bypass near Congleton.
Police and paramedics raced to the scene of the collision and found that an orange Land Rover Discovery had hit the pedestrian.
The victim was rushed to hospital from the scene. She remains there with serious injuries, Cheshire Constabulary said. The driver of the car, a 42-year-old man, was uninjured.

Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing. Police are now urging any witnesses or anyone with video footage of the incident to come forward.
Constable Archie Love, of the Roads and Crime Unit at Cheshire Police, said: “This was a serious collision which has left an elderly woman with serious injuries, and we are committed to doing all we can to establish what took place.
“As part of our enquiries we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in area and witnessed the collision taking place.
