Tomorrow, Tuesday November 5, Biman Bangladesh flights will depart from Terminal 2. Jet2 flights will move on Wednesday, November 6; while both Iberia Express and Vueling will move on Thursday, November 7. Manchester Airport has posted about the changes on X.
Affected passengers are advised to now check-in for their flights at Terminal 2. The airport has urged travellers to make any amendments to lounge and parking bookings so that they don’t get caught out when they go on holiday. More details can be found on the airport’s website.

The airlines are being moved as part of the airport’s £1.3billion Transformation Programme which will see Terminal 2 become the main hub. A total of 11 airlines moving to Terminal 2 have been announced so far. These are:

- Austrian on Sunday October 27
- Lufthansa and Lufthansa City on Sunday October 27
- Swiss on Sunday October 27
- TAP Air Portugal on Wednesday October 30
- Biman Bangladesh on Tuesday November 5

Under the transformation plans Terminal 1 will close while the number of airlines operating from Terminal 3 will be reduced. The aim is to make the new-look Terminal 2 “the heartbeat of the airport”; the first half of the new Terminal 2 opened in 2021, while the second half is on track to open next year.
In September the airport announced a total of 22 new retail, bar and restaurant units will open in Terminal 2 next summer when the transformation is complete, including the airport’s first Wetherspoons, a Greggs and a Fever-Tree cocktail and champagne bar.
The new terminal will be home to luxury retailers like Pandora and Chanel, the latter opening its first standalone airport make-up and skincare boutique. These will be joined by big high street names including LEGO, WH Smith and Boots. There will also be a huge 472-seater food hall, the Great Northern Market, which will offer a street-style dining experience with seven international street food kitchens including a unit from viral Manchester dessert brand Gooey.
