A significant police presence last weekend in Sahali was due to a report of an intoxicated man armed with a knife, Mounties say.

According to police, officers were called at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, to the 700-block of Notre Dame Drive to assist ambulance paramedics with a patient.

“He was located nearby intoxicated, arrested for mischief and lodged in cells, where his aggressive behaviour continued,” RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.

Evelyn said the man was assessed by the integrated crisis response team, formerly known as Car 40, and released when sober.
