Pedestrian struck by vehicle
by Sarah Crookall · CastanetA vehicle struck a pedestrian at Main Street and Fairview Road in Oliver Tuesday afternoon.
Around 12:45 p.m., the Oliver Fire Department was called to the scene of the incident, accompanied by RCMP and paramedics.
According to deputy fire chief Rob Graham, a pedestrian was crossing at the crosswalk when they were struck by a vehicle. Details on the vehicle were not obtained by the fire department .
Graham said a fire team provided traffic control for about 20 minutes, with a quick response from one member.
"One of our captains was passing by the scene shortly just after the accident happened, and so he stopped and rendered assistance."
The pedestrian was transported to hospital with unknown injuries.
