Key Facts

An account associated with Robinson, the sitting lieutenant governor who is running for governor with former President Donald Trump’s backing, wrote on a forum on the pornographic website Nude Africa “slavery is not bad” and “some people need to be slaves . . . I would certainly buy a few,” according to CNN.

He called Martin Luther King Jr. a “f*cking commie bastard” and said that if he were in the Ku Klux Klan he “would have called him Martin Lucifer Koon!” CNN reported.

In other posts, Robinson reportedly referred to himself as a “Black Nazi” while discussing Black Republicans, and he used the antisemitic slur “hebe” while discussing a television show developed by the late Jewish screenwriter Norman Lear.

He repeatedly used the homophobic slur “f*ggot” and detailed how he liked watching transgender pornography, despite his public anti-trans rhetoric and statements, CNN reported.

Robinson denied the allegations in a pre-rebuttal video posted to his Twitter account earlier Thursday, claiming “the things you will see in that story are not the words of Mark Robinson” and alleging the story was “leaked” to CNN by his Democratic opponent in the gubernatorial race, Attorney General Josh Stein.

Robinson reportedly made the comments between 2008 and 2012 under the username “minisoldr,” and CNN says it identified the user as Robinson through his email address, biographical references he made on Nude Africa and specific odd phrases he used elsewhere online and repeated on the forum; Robinson has also used the “minisoldr” moniker on other websites, according to CNN.
