Pram discovered in Scots river sparks emergency response

Reports of a pram in the Kilmarnock Water sparked an emergency response this morning.
Police and fire services were called to the scene on Sandbed Street in Kilmarnock town centre after the pram was spotted at 9.55am on Tuesday, November 12.
Rescuers reached the pram and discovered it was empty.
Four fire appliances, including two water rescue teams, were deployed to the scene, which was just yards from Kilmarnock Police Station.
Firefighters remained on scene until around 45 minutes after the pram’s discovery to ensure the area was safe.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 9.55am on Tuesday, 12 November, to assist emergency service partners on Sandbed Street, Kilmarnock.
"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and two water rescue teams where firefighters worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene at 10.41am.”
Police Scotland confirmed the pram was empty and no further action was taken.
