Car plunges into house as driver flees scene in Newmilns

A driver crashed a car into a house on Irvine Road in Newmilns after failing to stop for officers on the A71 in Darvel.

The incident happened in the early hours of this morning (Monday) at 1.20am. The driver fled the scene immediately after the crash.

Police are now investigating in a bid to trace the driver.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.20am on Monday, October 21, 2024, a car failed to stop for officers on the A71, Darvel. The car subsequently crashed on Irvine Road, Newmilns.

“The driver made off and enquiries are ongoing to trace them.”
