Cops probing 'murder' of John Taylor outside Scots dad's home make third arrest

A third man has been arrested in connection with the doorstop death of John Taylor in Kilwinning. The 44-year-old died after he was found with serious injuries outside his home on the North Ayrshire town's Pollock Crescent at around 1.55pm on Friday, October 18.

Emergency crews raced to the incident but Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives previously confirmed that Mr Taylor's death is being treated as murder.

Cops have now confirmed that three men have since been arrested in connection, two of which occured today, Friday, October 25. Kiey O'Connor, 26, was previously arrested in connection and he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday charged with alleged murder.

O’Connor, of North Ayrshire, was also charged with an attempt to defeat the ends of justice. He made no plea or declaration. O’Connor was remanded in custody while the case was committed for further examination. He is expected to reappear in the dock within the next six days.

Cops revealed earlier today that a 53-year-old man had been arrested in connection. And this afternoon, the force confirmed that a third man, aged 19, had also been nicked.

Meanwhile, an online portal has been set up by detectives that gives members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the Major Investigation Team, which can be submitted anonymously.

A statement from Police Scotland reads: "A third man has been arrested in connection with the death of John Taylor in Kilwinning. Mr Taylor, aged 44, was found with serious injuries on Pollock Crescent around 1.55pm on Friday, October 18. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"A 19-year-old man and a 53-year-old man were both arrested on Friday, October 25. A 26-year-old man was previously arrested and charged in connection with the death. Inquiries are ongoing."
