TRAGEDY has struck a Harare family following the death of a 21-year-old man, who was found dead floating in a swimming pool.

The now deceased, Wayne Kudakwashe Gamble, had attended a party at the house where he met his fate.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

“The ZRP is investigating a suspected case of drowning in which Wayne Kudakwashe Gamble (21) was found dead in a swimming pool at a house along Tedder Road, Highlands on September 29, 2024.

“The victim had attended a party with former schoolmates at the house when the tragic incident occurred,” said Nyathi.

Gamble’s body was conveyed to Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, ZRP is probing an electrocution incident in which a yet-to-be-identified man was burnt beyond recognition at a substation along Wayne Street, Harare last Saturday.

Authorities say preliminary investigations indicate that the victim tampered with copper earthing which caused a short circuit.
