A man from Calverton has been jailed for 36 years for rapes and sexual offences he committed over an 11-year-period against six women and girls. Connor Chambers, of Labray Road, was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court for the crimes, which were carried out across Birmingham and Worcestershire between 2011 and 2022.

The 31-year-old was found guilty of 19 sexual offences in total, 11 of which were rape, including two of a child under the age of 13. Four other sexual offences, which weren't rape, were also committed against children under the age of 13.

Chambers was found guilty following a three-week trial in September and learnt his punishment on Friday, October 4. He will serve 30 years in jail and a further six years on licence.

Det Con Atoosa Nasri from West Mercia Police said: "We welcome the sentence given to Chambers by the judge, but no sentence can ever take away the lifelong trauma he caused his victims. Chambers is a highly dangerous individual who preyed on females."

Det Con Beverley Hamilton added: "I would like to commend his victims for coming forward and reporting these crimes, it takes great courage and strength, and I would like to thank them for their bravery throughout the investigation and trial."
