Niall Horan has finally spoken out following the tragic loss of his fellow One Direction member, Liam Payne. The devastating news of Liam's death was made public on Wednesday.

He had been vacationing in Buenos Aires with his partner Kate Cassidy when he tragically fell from the third floor of their hotel. Liam, who rose to global fame as one part of the iconic boy band, first entered the spotlight in 2011 on The X Factor, where Simon Cowell formed the group that also included Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan himself.

On Friday, Niall shared a heartfelt throwback photo of Liam piggybacking on him, accompanied by a moving tribute: "I'm absolutely devastated about the passing of my amazing friend, Liam. It just doesn't feel real. Liam had an energy for life and a passion for work that was infectious. He was the brightest in every room and always made everyone feel happy and secure."

"All the laughs we had over the years, sometimes about the simplest of things, keep coming to mind through the sadness. We got to live out our wildest dreams together and I will cherish every moment we had forever."

He added: "The bond and friendship we had doesn't happen often in a lifetime. I feel so fortunate that I got to see him recently. I sadly didn't know that after saying goodbye and hugging him that evening, I would be saying goodbye forever. It's heartbreaking. My love and condolences go out to Geoff, Karen, Ruth, Nicola and of course his son Bear. That you for everything, Payno. Love you brother. Nialler."

The situation unfolded tragically this week as Liam suffered a devastating fall from the third floor of a hotel building in the Argentinian capital. Emergency services including police, firefighters and ambulances swarmed around the hotel after the terrible accident occurred.

Reports indicate that the incident was preceded by complaints received by the police about a man displaying aggressive behaviour at the hotel, suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reports the Mirror.

An unfortunate discovery was made in one of the hotel's internal patios. Hotel management called the police to the scene.

Authorities have suggested that Liam fell from a height estimated between 13 and 14 metres, resulting in “very serious injuries incompatible with life. ” Meanwhile, Alberto Crescenti, a spokesman for the City ambulance service, stated he fell as much as 40 metres, causing “severe injuries which were incompatible with life.”

In commentary provided to TN, the local ambulance manager declared: "At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel."

"At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation."
