Elderly woman injured in Arnold crash involving car and pedestrian

An elderly woman has been injured in a crash involving a car on an Arnold road. The incident occurred at the junction of Arnot Hill Road and Sandfield Road and officers were called to the scene at 5.21pm yesterday (Tuesday, September 17).

The collision involved a car and a 68-year-old pedestrian. The woman was tended to by the ambulance service at the scene, having suffered facial injuries and cuts to her body, Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed.

A spokesman for the force added that the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) was also suspecting the woman had suffered fractures to one of her wrists, one of her ankles, and ribs. No arrests were made following the incident and the woman's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The NCT Lime 59 buses had to divert following the incident, the operator has confirmed in a post on X (previously Twitter) at 6pm on Tuesday. The statement reads: "There has been an RTC on Arnos [sic] Hill Road. Lime 59 is diverting in both directions along Arno Vale Road and Gedling Road (passing Arnold Hill School)." NCT then confirmed at 6.55pm that buses had returned to their normal route.
