Kamakhyanagar: A helpless man’s heart-wrenching appeal to stop demolishing his house falls on deaf ears. The incident took place recently in the Indipur village under Kamakhyanagar Police limits in Dhenkanal district of Odisha.

As per reports, Bipin Naik has been living in Indipur for the last 40 to 45 years. As per his claim, he had been given an Indira Awas Yojana and was living there since long. However, someone else’s plot was on the backside of Bipin’s house. There was no road to his house. Hence, he had moved to Court for road to his house.

Reportedly, the Court recently given verdict in favour of the person whose plot is behind Naik’s house. Accordingly, Government in presence of Police and Court personnel had come to demolish the house of Bipin Nayak, so that a road can open to the backside house.

Getting no way to stop the people from demolishing his house, the helpless man conveyed his ordeal to everybody in the road. Then he went to the Sub-collector’s office and shouted for help by calling ‘Sub Collector saheb’ for repeated times. Initially, a few local youths restrained him from protesting on the road and then police took him to custody.

My house is broken. I will become a poor beggar, my family will land in the road as I don’t have any other place to live. Someone please help me. They are demolishing my house, someone listen to me. Otherwise everything will end. Bipin Nayak was telling all this and protesting on the road. It was really a heart-wrenching sight.

As no one listened to his pleas, he finally attempted to commit suicide in front of the Sub-Collector’s office. But the locals arrived in time and rescued him before he could do so.
