Man dies, 5 turn critical in car-truck road mishap in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district

Kamakhyanagar: In a tragic incident a man was killed while five others sustained critical injury in a road mishap in Dhenkanal district of Odisha on Wednesday. The accident took place near Jiridamali on the National Highway No. 53.

The deceased has been identified as Niranjan Pradhan.

As per reports, Niranjan Pradhan and his relatives were going to Bhubaneswar to a hospital for health check-up in a Maruti car from Kalda village under Kankadahada Block. When they were crossing Jiridimali bypass, a speeding truck, which was coming from Jajpur side, hit the car.

Accordingly, the six persons who were travelling in the Maruti car sustained critical injury. The locals rescued them and rushed to the Kamakhyanagar hospital for treatment. However, as his health condition deteriorated Niranjan Pradhan was being shifted to Bhubaneswar when he succumbed to the injury on the way to the hospital.

The other critically injured patients have been shifted to Dhenkanal District Headquarter hospital.

After getting information Police reached the spot and initiated probe. Further investigation of the case is underway.
