Andhra woman dead, friend injured after ferris wheel cabin crashes at Diwali fest

A woman died, and her friend was seriously injured when the Ferris wheel cabin they were riding in crashed to the ground during Diwali celebrations in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
The tragic incident took place at the Shilparamam (Urban Haat) exhibition on the busy Tiruchanur Road, where the two friends, identified as Lokeshwari and Gautami, were attending a Diwali fair over the weekend.
Eyewitnesses reported that as the Ferris wheel began to rotate, the cabin the friends were in suddenly detached and plummeted nearly 20 feet before hitting the ground. Lokeshwari succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while Gautami was rushed to a private hospital and is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
