Ghanaians revisit Rev. Owusu Bempah’s Claim: Calamities if Mahama Returns to Power

by · MyNewsGh.com

An old video of Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministry, has resurfaced, reigniting discussions about his past prophecy concerning former President John Dramani Mahama.

In the video, which dates back to four years ago during the lead-up to the 2020 elections, Rev. Owusu Bempah emphatically declared that Mahama would never become president of Ghana again. His remarks were made during an appearance on Paul Adom-Otchere’s program, Good Evening Ghana.

Speaking with conviction, Owusu Bempah warned Ghanaians against casting their votes for Mahama, claiming that his potential re-election could bring about severe consequences. “If Ghanaians make the mistake of electing Mahama again, unforeseen calamities will fall upon this nation, and no one will be able to prevent them,” the preacher cautioned.

Paul Adom-Otchere, the host of the show, expressed concern that Owusu Bempah’s statements appeared to be more politically charged than divinely inspired. Adom-Otchere questioned the pastor’s motives, asking whether his stance against Mahama was driven by politics rather than prophecy.

In response, Rev. Owusu Bempah stood firm in his assertions, insisting that his warnings were guided by divine insight.

“I am not speaking from a political standpoint,” Owusu Bempah explained. “Mahama has been rejected, and I speak with the authority of God. Just as Saul was rejected by God as king in the Bible, Mahama will not return to the presidency. It is written.”

Using biblical references, Owusu Bempah likened Mahama’s political fate to the story of King Saul, emphasizing that just as Saul never regained his throne after being rejected by God, Mahama’s time in the presidency was over.

The resurfaced video has once again sparked debate among Ghanaians, particularly in light of Owusu Bempah’s more recent prophecies regarding Mahama.

While some still hold onto his earlier claims, others are questioning the consistency of his predictions, especially after his recent declaration of Mahama’s potential victory in the upcoming 2024 elections.
