Israel Lebanon Conflict Live Updates: In one of the most serious attack by Lebanon based Hezbollah militant group in Israel, the northern Israeli town of Binyamina was attacked with a “swarm of drones” on Sunday. According to Israeli rescue services, at least 40 people were wounded in the drone attack with three of them having serious injuries.

Israel Prime Miniter Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday urged UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to remove UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon) peacekeeping forces from combat areas in Lebanon, news agency Reuters reported. Netanyahu said that the Israeli military had asked the UN to evacuate the forces immediately, while asserting that their presence in the areas where conflict is underway made them hostages of Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, NBC reported on Saturday that US officials believe Israel has narrowed down targets in response to Iran’s recent attack on its military and energy infrastructure. There are no signs that Israel plans to target nuclear facilities or carry out assassinations. The report also noted that Israel has not yet made final decisions on how or when to act. US and Israeli officials indicated that a response could come during the ongoing Yom Kippur holiday.

The Israeli military has said that a military tank collided with a United Nations peacekeeping post on Sunday, when the artillery vehicle came under intense firing in southern Lebanon.

The United Nations mission UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon) accused two Israeli military tanks of “forcibly” entering their position in the southern Lebanon region.

The Israeli military in a statement said, “An initial review showed that an IDF tank that was trying to evacuate injured soldiers while still under fire backed several meters into a UNIFIL post. Once the enemy fire stopped, and following the evacuation of the injured soldiers, the tank left the post,” according to news agency AFP.

The US President Joe Biden announced on Sunday that America is sending an advanced anti-missile system to Israel and the US troops to operate the same in order for Tel Aviv to bolster its air defense systems against the attacks the country is facing in its war against Palestine’s Hamas, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthi rebels, alongside Iran’s air threat.

President Joe Biden said that he was sending the weapons to “defend Israel”. Pentagon’s spokesperson Pat Ryder said, “It is part of the broader adjustments the U.S. military has made in recent months, to support the defense of Israel and protect Americans from attacks by Iran and Iranian-aligned militias.”

Iran had launched missiles at Israel in April this year. Then on October 1, Tehran fired more than 180 ballistic missiles towards Tel Aviv in an act of escalation of the hostilities between Israel and Iran backed Lebanon based Hezbollah militant group.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, reacted to the development, and posted on X, “While we have made tremendous efforts in recent days to contain an all-out war in our region, I say it clearly that we have no red lines in defending our people and interests.”

Meloni also called for the "full implementation" of the UN's Security Council Resolution 1701 on Lebanon, stressing the urgent need for a de-escalation of conflict in the region, her office further said.

Meanwhile in Gaza, the situation remains grim as at least 29 Palestinians were killed in Israeli military strikes on Saturday. Israeli forces reportedly kept pushing deeper into Jabalia area, where the largest of its historic refugee camps is located. Residents in the area told Reuters said the camp was being pounded by Israeli forces from the air and ground.
