Two people hospitalised with serious injuries after car mounts footpath in Cork

Gardaí and emergency services were rushed to the scene of the collision on the Main Street in Charleville, County Cork on Saturday afternoon, shortly before 2pm.
A car had collided with two pedestrians after it mounted a footpath. The male and female pedestrians were taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured.

The Main Street in Charleville is currently closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Gardaí confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision that occurred on the Main Street in Charleville, County Cork this afternoon, Saturday 2nd November 2024 shortly before 2pm.
“A car collided with two pedestrians after it mounted a footpath. The male and female pedestrians were taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.
“The driver of the car was uninjured. The Main Street in Charleville is currently closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Investigations are ongoing.”
