Several houses in Shwepyithar Township, Yangon Region, had their roofs blown off due to strong winds, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department.

At around 3:00 AM on October 21, heavy rain and strong winds swept through the township, damaging roofs and flooding homes on Hninpan Street in Ward 19.

"The wind was very strong last night. It was so intense that we couldn't even sleep. The rain was also heavy," said a shop owner from the area.

In response, fire department personnel and volunteers assisted in relocating affected families to safer areas.

The heavy rains that began on the night of October 20 also caused flooding in multiple townships across Yangon Region.
