One body recovered after two swimmers go missing off the coast of Galway
by Erica Carter · RSVP LiveOne body has been recovered in a search after two swimmers went missing today off the coast of Galway.
Two people were reported missing after failing to come back from a swim on Silver Strand Beach in Bearna, Co Galway.
According to RTE, Gardaí have confirmed that the body, understood to be that of a man aged in his 70s, was recovered just before 2pm and taken to Galway docks.

A search for another swimmer, a woman aged in her 30s, is also under way.
The 74-year-old man was reported missing after he failed to return from a morning swim at Silverstrand beach, on the outskirts of the city, this morning.
It subsequently emerged that another swimmer, the woman in her 30s, was also missing.
The alarm was raised about her whereabouts at around 1pm, after she did not turn up for work as expected.
The search has been made difficult due to heavy fog in the area reducing visibility.
