Harry Styles has expressed his deep sorrow following the news of the untimely death of Liam Payne, his fellow One Direction member. Liam tragically passed away on Wednesday during a visit to Buenos Aires with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, after he fell from the third floor of their hotel.

Liam, who won hearts globally as one part of the enormously successful band, rose to fame in 2011 through The X Factor, where Simon Cowell crafted the iconic band including Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan. On Thursday, a grieving Harry took to Instagram, saying: "I am truly devastated by Liam's passing," and shared how Liam found joy in bringing happiness to others.

Harry recalled the years they worked together with great fondness: "Liam lived wide open, with his heart on his sleeve, he had an energy for life that was infectious. He was warm, supportive, and incredibly loving. The years we spent together will forever remain among the most cherished years of my life. I will miss him always, my lovely friend. My heart breaks for Karen, Geoff, Nicola and Ruth, his son Bear, and all those around the world who knew and loved him, as I did."

In a harrowing incident this week, Liam suffered a fatal fall from the third storey of a hotel in Buenos Aires. Emergency services, including police, firefighters and ambulances, were dispatched to the scene after the distressing event.

It is reported that authorities were initially called out due to a man behaving aggressively at the hotel, potentially under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A body was discovered in the hotel's inner courtyard, reports the Mirror.

The hotel manager had alerted the police. It is believed that Liam plummeted approximately 13 or 14 metres, sustaining "very serious injuries incompatible with life."

Meanwhile, Alberto Crescenti, a spokesperson for the City ambulance service, stated that the fall was around 40 metres, causing "severe injuries which were incompatible with life."

In an official statement, the local ambulance service manager informed TN: "At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel."

"At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation."
