There's a serious chill in the air on Sunday night, with the launch of brand new thriller Until I Kill You, based on some truly horrifying real life events

First announced by ITV execs in early 2023, Until I Kill You is based on the harrowing experiences of Deliah Bulmer, a young burse whose life changed forever when she met killer John Sweeney in a local pub back in 1991. Having fallen for Liverpool born Sweeney because he was bit 'artistic' and different from other guys, Deliah soon found herself introduced to his much darker side, when he began viciously attacking her and confessing to murdering one of his former girlfriends and dumping her body in an Amsterdam canal.

As it will play out on screen in Until I Kill You, Sweeney ended up being arrested, but was catastrophically let out on bail, giving him the freedom to go looking for Deliah and subject her to an assault that nearly ended her life. Having somehow survived the attack, Deliah then ended up as a prosecution witness, as her villainous boyfriend was then charged with the murder of another woman.

After weeks of teaser adverts airing on the channel, Until I Kill You will launch on ITV and ITVX on Sunday, November 3 at 9pm, putting it up against the series finale of BBC hit Showtrial.

How many episodes of Until I Kill You are there on ITV?

There are FOUR in total and they will air over consecutive nights on ITV on November 3, 4, 5 and 6, with each episode on at 9pm.

A preview for Monday's second episode reads: "Delia uses all her guile to escape Sweeney's violence and must decide what to do next with Leah's help, wondering if going to the police will put her in more danger from him. She reluctantly talks to the local domestic violence unit, but Sweeney has fled by the time they return to her flat and she becomes frustrated with the police's dismissive attitude to his disturbing drawings of ex-girlfriend Melissa."

Revealing a chilling end to part two, the teaser concludes: "When Sweeney is finally arrested but bailed for his attack on her, Delia finds herself once more at risk."
