A chef from Glasgow has tragically lost his life in a catastrophic collision that involved two cars on the M6 in Cumbria, according to reports.

Jaroslaw Rossa, 42, was reportedly behind the wheel of a Toyota that collided head-on with another vehicle on the northbound carriageway close to Tebay services on Tuesday afternoon.

Three other passengers in the Toyota, a 33-year-old woman and two boys aged 15 and seven, also died. A second man, aged 40 from Cambridgeshire, who is believed to have been driving a Skoda in the wrong direction down the motorway, was declared dead at the scene.

A third child from the Toyota, a seven-year-old boy, was seriously injured and subsequently airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

The identities of all the deceased have yet to be officially confirmed by the authorities; however, according to the BBC reporting on Thursday, Wagamama's CEO Thomas Heier verified that Mr Rossa worked for the company and died in the crash. Mr Heier has been quoted noting the deep affection and esteem Mr Rossa's work colleagues from the Silverburn shopping centre held for him, labelling him as "a cherished chef and friend" who created "unforgettable relationships" with both teammates and patrons alike.

Mr Heier said: "His warmth, dedication and kindness are the characteristics of Jaroslaw that will stay with the team long after his passing."

“We send our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family, which we know he was deeply devoted to."

The heartfelt message concluded with a tribute, "Jaroslaw, you will live in our hearts and minds forever."
