CAIRO – 27 September 2024: Houthi fighters in Yemen have stated that they directly hit three US destroyers in the Red Sea on Friday using a total of 23 ballistic and winged missiles along with a drone.

During a televised address to the Yemeni nation, Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Houthi fighters, declared that they successfully struck the three destroyers in what is described as the largest naval operation by the forces since the Israeli aggression in Gaza last October.

In addition, Saree mentioned that the Houthi forces conducted two military operations targeting the cities of Jaffa and Ashkelon, which are under Israeli occupation, using two Palestine-2 missiles and a Jaffa drone.

Saree emphasized that the three destroyers were en route to assist Israel.

On the same day, the Israeli army reported intercepting a missile launched from Yemen following the sounding of sirens.

Saree asserted that the operations will persist until Israel ceases its aggression against Gaza and Lebanon.

Since the commencement of the Gaza war on October 7, Israeli forces have killed more than 41,500 Palestinians, injured over 96,000 others, and pushed the enclave closer to the brink of famine.

Simultaneously, Israeli forces initiated a relentless series of airstrikes throughout Lebanon, marking the deadliest assault on the Arab nation in almost a decade.

The airstrikes have killed over 600 individuals, including women and children, and left hundreds more wounded.

The Israeli airstrikes followed a sequence of fatal explosions of pagers and walkie-talkies, orchestrated through a joint operation involving Israeli intelligence and the military, killing 42 people and injuring around 3,500 others, according to official Lebanese figures.
