Two teenagers remanded in prison over alleged possession of guns
by Hassan Muaz · The Eagle OnlineAn Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State on Friday remanded two 18-year-old suspects, Usman Manu and Abubakar Usman, in a correctional facility over alleged possession of guns.
The duo, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with unlawful possession of firearms before the court on Friday.
The Magistrate, Oluwabusayo Osho, did not take the plea of the defendants for lack of jurisdiction.
Osho directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
She, thereafter, adjourned the case until November 19 for mention.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Olalekan Adegbite, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on September 9 at about 2pm at Orita Sanni village, Saki in Oyo State.
Adegbite said the defendants unlawfully possessed two locally made single barrel guns and one cartridge long gun without lawful justification.
He said the offence contravened Sections 6(b) and 3 of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004.
