Man on bicycle gunned down on Salt Pond Road

A 54-year-old man was shot and killed while riding a bicycle along Salt Pond Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine this morning.

Killed was Dennis Stewart of a Spanish Town address.

Reports are that about 5:45 a.m., explosions were heard near a property located along the roadway, and the police were summoned.

Upon arrival, Stewart was found suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his upper body.

He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No motive has been established for Stewart's death.

The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is probing the matter.
