Amazon selling 'reliable' £20 Silentnight electric blanket that 'heats bed for as little as 1p'

A 'reliable' electric blanket that heats up beds 'for as little as 1p' has gone on sale on Amazon. Shoppers said the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket was the 'perfect' way to create a 'toasty' sleeping environment and was 'cheap to run'.

The single Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket retails at £30 but Amazon shoppers can currently get it for £20. The king size version has also been discounted from £42.99 to £35.51, while the price of the super king has been slashed from £55 to £41.99.

Amazon said the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket was made from "super snuggly" fleece material and had three heat settings. The machine washable blanket, which cost "from just 1p to heat your bed", also had overheat protection for "total peace of mind" and "easy fit straps" for a secure fit.

More than 3,000 Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blankets have been sold on Amazon in the past month, with shoppers giving it an overall star rating of 4.4. In the review section, Al said he bought the product in late 2020 and it was now "heading into its fifth winter". They said it was a "good, reliable product", and they'd "not had any problems with it over the past four years of use". However they did say it was "quite slow to fully warm up" so they "always switch it on at least half an hour before bedtime".

Gillian gave the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket five stars and said: "Although I've seen other heated blankets at budget prices, I would be weary about choosing an unknown brand for safety reasons. Silentnight is well know and trusted. The three heat settings are ample, it warms up quickly and the elastic straps keep it in place."

John's review of the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket read: "Perfect. Good price to buy for a well known named brand and cheap to run. Thirty mins on setting three gets the bed really warm then we switch it off. The lower settings might be great for all night as per the enclosed instructions but the nights haven’t been that cold so far for us."

Daniel's four-star review of the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket stated: "Overall great value for money and does the job well. The item was well packaged and it's very easy to set up. Just put it straight over the mattress and cover with a fitted sheet. On the negative side the plug lead could be a bit longer in terms of placement next to the controller. It takes a minute or two to get going but then is really warm. It has three settings for various warmth levels and they are generally OK. Would recommend given the price and functionality of the blanket."
