Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Adam Thomas says he is "really suffering" after a life-changing diagnosis. Adam, the former BBC Waterloo Road star and ITV Emmerdale actor, is battling arthritis following his diagnosis last year, when he was aged just 35.

The Strictly Come Dancing star said in a fresh update: "My arthritis journey: Ok I need help!!!! So with the arthritis that I’ve got which psoriatic arthritis one of the symptoms that comes with this is a skin condition called psoriasis!

"It used to be all over my body and face still is on places but really suffer with it on my scalp. I’ve tried absolutely everything ! If anyone has had this or got this and can recommend any shampoos or creams to help preferably natural I would really appreciate it thank you."

In reply, Emily Atack wrote: "Steroid cream from the docs!!! Worked WONDERS for me. You comb it into your hair like a leave in conditioner. I’ll send you a pic of it xxx" @ryan_healthwealth added: "It’s the exact same thing you need to address the rest of your conditions. Diet and lifestyle.

"There is no magic fix without that, you’re just papering over cracks." He said: "Pure organic tallow cream is great for your skin but if you don’t address the rest of your diet and lifestyle it’s not going to do much." A third typed: "I use Polytar, it’s in a brown bottle from the pharmacy. I’m in Sulphasalazine and have been for a long time with the same arthritis and skin issues as you Adam."

"Look up benefits of castor oil apparently it’s helped with the scalp hair growth and skin conditions I would at least give it a try before using steroid cream. I had steroid cream a few times and it did help at the time but the rash would come back using castor mixed with coconut oil has definitely helped," another commented.

"I hear you, Adam! I have the same arthritis and my scalp can be really sore! I got a lotion that I put through my hair - on prescription and always helps - will look for the name. I don’t have to use it daily, only when it flares up. There are definitely products to help and ease pain," another typed.
