Married at First Sight UK bride Sacha Jones has revealed the lie she told friends and family before appearing on the hit show. The Walsall-based beauty queen will marry a complete stranger on national TV when her Married at First Sight (MAFS) episode airs tonight (September 19).

Ahead of the episode's release, Sacha spoke to BirminghamLive about her experience on the show, expressing that she was 'so excited' for her episode to air. The 29-year-old aesthetics practitioner, originally from Tipton, has been competing in beauty pageants since she was just six years old.

Despite being comfortable on stage and in front of the camera, Sacha admitted she was 'petrified' as she walked down the aisle on the show - but she said she has no regrets about her decision. The fourth episode of Married at First Sight UK will air on E4 tonight (Thursday, September 19) at 9pm.

While Sacha's episode of MAFS will air tonight, she actually tied the knot back in January, having only applied to be on the show in December. She jokingly compared waiting nine months for the episode to air to 'waiting for a baby to be born.'

During the months away from her friends and family while filming, Sacha revealed the elaborate lie she told her loved ones to keep her appearance on the show a secret. "I was really good at keeping quiet," she told BirminghamLive.

"I told everyone I was on a yoga retreat. I needed an excuse to explain why I wasn’t going to be on my phone. Everyone was completely shocked when the news came out."

Sacha described the entire process of appearing on MAFS as 'surreal,' recalling how quickly everything happened. "It was a very quick process," she said.

"I applied right before the deadline, got a call the next day, and then it was bang, bang, bang—you’re getting married. It was surreal, and I didn’t have time to think. But it was exciting to know I’d be ringing in the new year with my new husband."

Ahead of the MAFS premiere, Sacha revealed she’s only had one long-term relationship, which lasted three years. For the past nine months, she’s been celibate, deciding to wait for the right man to come along.

Married at First Sight UK began earlier this week and will air every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9pm. Contestants meet each other for the first time at the altar on their wedding day. This season will feature seven men and nine women, including the show’s first-ever deaf contestant and its second-ever lesbian pairing.
