Katie Price says 'they don't want to be associated with me' as she opens up about Junior and Princess
by Annabal Bagdi, Victoria Johns, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/annabal-bagdi/ · Birmingham LiveKatie Price has revealed that her children 'don't want to be associated with her' as they aim to forge their own careers. The former glamour model shares son Junior, 19, and daughter Princess, 17, with popstar Peter Andre.
The couple tied the knot after meeting on ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! but have since gone their separate ways. Having grown up in the spotlight, Princess and Junior are now following in the footsteps of their parents and heading into a life of fame.
Junior is trying to break into the music industry, while Princess has had a number of modelling gigs. But Katie, who has three other children, has insisted she is not a 'pushy parent'.

Speaking about the so-called 'nepo babies', Katie said: "I'm not a pushy parent. Junior, naturally, is a talented dancer, singer. He got his scholarship at school to do drama so we always knew he would do something like that.
"If you look at his Instagram, I don't even think there's a picture of me and him on it, because he doesn't want to be associated. He wants to do it himself, wants to credit himself, so he does that."
Championing Princess, she told the Netmums podcast: "And then with Princess, you can't deny she's a pretty girl. So she gets offered all this stuff, no different to anyone else. And again, she doesn't use us on her page or anything. I don't go to events with her to be pictured to help her."
With access to their parents' contacts and fanbase, many have accused Junior and Princess of being nepo babies - a term which refers to children of people who have succeeded in similar or related careers. But former Page 3 model Katie has said this is not the case with her children.
She said: "People might say it's their daughter or their son, but you've got to give them credit. They're doing it themselves. I don't interfere.
"And I don't certainly don't make phone calls to get them jobs, and that they do it purely on their own, and that's what they want to do. They're like, no, we want to do it ourselves, not have any of your input."
Princess denied she has got to where she is because of her parents. Talking to The Sun, she said: "It honestly doesn't bother me, because I know that's not the case.
"Obviously, it has helped, but if you don't put the work in yourself, you're not going to get anywhere. Their experience has helped get me to a certain point, but after that, I work for what I achieve.
"I'm doing that independently and people now know me as me rather than my parents' daughter. I know if I hadn't put in the work, then I probably wouldn't be where I am."
