'I'm a flight attendant – there's two types of passengers and one is quite rare'

Working as a flight attendant means you get to meet new people on a daily basis.

It can come with its challenges in the air, but generally the role requires you to keep passengers comfortable and happy at all times. Now one cabin crew member who works for Etihad revealed there's two different kinds of people he meets on his work travels.

Ahmed Bahgat, who has travelled to 42 countries, often shares his flight secrets on Instagram where he boasts 224,000 followers. Now he recently shared the 99% passenger, alongside the 1%, which is rather rare, in a now viral post.

He captioned the post: "Are you 99% or 1%?" In the video, he showed the "two different types of passengers" which includes the 99% who's someone that selects a movie to watch during their flight.

Most long-haul flights tend to provide entertainment on board where you can play games with the people next to you, or catch up on the latest TV series and movies. There's also an option to listen to playlists and use WiFi on board.

But like most trips, there's always a minority who decide to entertain themselves in a very different way. So Ahmed showed the 1% passenger who prefers to keep tabs on the journey itself by using the aviation graphic which gives an estimate on the flight's trip.

For example, if you're flying from the UK to the USA, it'll show the plane flying across the Atlantic Ocean and possibly over some states which are along the journey of your long-haul route. You can even zoom in and out of the globe to see the entire world.

It can be an entertaining experience as it lets you explore the world from your flight seat. Since the video was shared, many people flocked to the comments section to admit they're in the 1% club too. One said: "There's no way we are just 1%?!

"(Shout out also to my fellow flyers who get the window seat each time to look out the window as much as possible because we're in a metal tube with an amazing view above the Earth or the cloud and that never stops feeling magic)."

While another added: "I am a 1% because I am terrified of flying! Gotta keep your eyes on the screen to keep the plane flying!" Then a third posted: "There is another type who turn off their screens and sleep for the whole flight."
