ITV I'm A Celebrity axe fan favourite part of show 'after seven years'
by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveITV I'm A Celebrity has swung the axe down on a fan favourite part of the show - after SEVEN years. ITV bosses at I'm A Celebrity have canned the fan favourite part of the show after seven years and decided to change things up this year.
Bosses are replacing it with a new challenge - which they insist is just as scary. Producers at the show, which returns to Australia later this month, have scrapped the terrifying Walk the Plank challenge for this year's opening show, it has emerged.
A show source said: "Bosses are staying tight-lipped on exactly what they've got lined up to replace the plank, but rest assured it will be equally as terrifying and exhilarating. It won't be an easy ride into camp for the celebrities this year. Bosses are pulling out all the stops to ensure the show has a spectacular launch that viewers won't want to miss."

Contestant Melvin Odoom told The Sun: "I'm afraid of everything but heights. I don't mind heights, years ago I went in a Red Bull aeroplane and they looped around, it was like G-force. If I had to do anything, like jumping out of the plane, I don't think I'd mind that much, it's the least thing I'd be afraid of.
"It would be scary, but anything else, I hate insects, I hate bugs." He added: "I'm very very competitive, I'm a team player, if you're in a place like that with me, I'll make sure we're all collectively eating. So that's what I'd have to do to motivate myself."
Coleen Rooney has reportedly signed up to appear on this year’s series. The wife of former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is said to have secured the biggest deal in the show’s history, which would surpass that of Farage and presenter Noel Edmonds with a fee of over £1.5m.
