BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Borthwick uncovers soap legend's secret

by · Birmingham Live

Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Borthwick wowed the judges with his Paso Doble alongside professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas, scoring an impressive 39 and sharing the top spot on the leaderboard with Gladiator star Montell Douglas. His performance not only captivated the judges but also had some of Jamie's EastEnders co-stars, including Tanya Franks and Adam Woodyatt, cheering from the audience.

Speaking about the support, Janette asked: "You had some EastEnders cast members in the audience, Tanya Franks, and Adam Woodyatt. They were there on Saturday. What did Adam think of the dance and do you think he'll ever do Strictly? " Jamie responded optimistically about Adam, known for his role as Ian Beale, saying: "You know what? I think he could be swayed to do Strictly. He really enjoyed it on Saturday and he's been loads of times before to support other people. I think yeah, if you gave him a little push he would be Strictly."

Jamie expressed that his colleagues felt proud seeing him perform with Michelle. Over time, BBC viewers have witnessed numerous soap stars take to the Strictly stage, such as Maisie Smith, James Bye, Bobby Brazier, and Emma Barton.

For Halloween week, Jamie and Michelle are set to perform an American Smooth Foxtrot to the Addams Family theme, dressing up as the iconic siblings Wednesday and Pugsley.

During her chat on the show, Janette Manrara also sat down with comedian Chris McCausland and his dancing buddy, Dianne Buswell. The performance of a Waltz to "You'll Never Walk Alone" by Chris moved not just the judges and viewers but everyone in the studio, reports the Mirror.

Revealing a first for him in the competition, Chirs admitted to feelings of nerves. He shared with Janette: "There's a lot of pressure in terms of wanting to do a good job. You don't want to do a rubbish job on a song that means so much to so many people, especially as it's so connected to where you're from."

Adding, "I was really nervous wasn't I? For the first show that we did out of the whole series, really nervous. I think I've improved a little bit as the weeks have gone on."
