Kelly Osbourne claimed Liam Payne was 'crying out for help' in worrying final conversation
by Katy Hallam, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/katy-hallam/, Victoria Johns · Birmingham LiveReality TV personality Kelly Osbourne has expressed her belief that Liam Payne was "crying out for help" prior to his tragic death last month.
The former One Direction singer devastated his many fans when he tragically fell from the third floor of a hotel suite in Argentina at the age of 31. Kelly, aged 40, reminisced about how during their last conversation, Liam was seemingly in a "really good place" while she was not, sharing that the father-of-one was "checking in" on her.
Yet, the "The Osbournes" alum highlighted that Liam had been struggling with his mental health of late, taking to TikTok to express: "To be alone in that mental state... and he was crying out for help and nobody helped him. I think that that is just beyond heartbreaking because he made all those people millions of dollars."
"Last time we'd spoke, he was in a really good place and I wasn't so he was checking on me to make sure that I was ok and saying that if I ever needed anything then he was there... and the fact that there was nobody there for him just breaks my heart."
In the aftermath of Liam's passing, over 100,000 signatures have been collected for a petition encouraging the government to better safeguard the mental well-being of young entertainers. Addressing 'Liam's Law' which proposes legislation for "regular mental health check-ups any ongoing support during an artist's career", Kelly commented: "When it comes to protecting the artists, I don't feel that record companies protect their artists.", reports the Mirror.
She also touched on the issue of "doctors who want to be around the celebrities" following reports that Liam had multiple drugs in his system at the time of his death. Initial toxicology reports indicated that the former One Direction member had been using a variety of drugs in Buenos Aires, including pink cocaine (a mix of several drugs), cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack.
Although the specific type of benzodiazepine was not mentioned in the toxicology report, it's known that police discovered a blister pack of clonazepam in the singer's hotel room.
Kelly claimed that these doctors 'give celebrities what they want', stating: "There are a number of doctors who want to around celebrities so they give them what they want. There's a few doctors and you see them in movies or fly on the wall docuseries and I'm like: 'I know that doctor.'After a painful wait for Liam's family, who have been waiting to bring his body back home while toxicology tests were conducted in Argentina, it has now been reported that the star can be returned to the UK by "Monday at the latest". A funeral is expected to take place within the same week.
