Nick Knowles shares when he's getting married to age-gap girlfriend and important detail

He has shared plans for the couple's wedding day after his exit from BBC show Strictly Come Dancing

Nick Knowles has revealed he is going to wed his girlfriend Katie Dadzie next year - and revealed big plans for their first dance after being booted off Strictly Come Dancing. The DIY SOS star, 62, popped the question to Katie, 35, last summer.

Now he has spoken about when he will be standing at the aisle waiting for his love, who is 27 years his junior. The pair got engaged in the US where he was filming at the time.

The couple have been together since 2021 and reportedly met when Katie’s daughters befriended Nick’s youngest boy Eddie, eight, at a play centre. Nick revealed he would be saying I do next year and revealed the important role his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Luba Mushtuk would play.

He said: "More importantly, I’m getting married next year and Luba is going to help choreograph the first dance”. Appearing on BBC spin-off show It Takes Two to discuss his exit, Nick said: “I had a week off, you can see actually everybody had progressed a lot in that week and I just didn’t have time to be able to catch up and do well enough to stay in the competition.

“I think it was the right result in the end and it means that I can now get the various bits of me that are falling off sorted out. I might have an operation on the arm this week and then another operation on the knee in three weeks’ time so I can get myself sorted.”

Nick was axed from the BBC dancing competition last weekend after he had sustained a knee injury while rehearsing a jump for his Movie Week dance routine. He missed out on performing that week but returned to the show a week later.

But his dance moves were significantly reduced due to his knee injury. It wasn't the first time Nick had been injured during his short time in the competition.

It was a question as to whether he would be well enough to dance after he injured his shoulder while changing a car tyre.
