Strictly's Pasha Kovalev emotional over sad Robin Windsor detail as he says 'he's always there'

Strictly Come Dancing professional Pasha Kovalev was visibly moved as he discussed a poignant detail ahead of an upcoming tribute show for his late friend and fellow dancer Robin Windsor.

On 3 November, a special event to honour Robin's memory will take place, organised by his friends and former Strictly co-stars. The evening, titled Robin Windsor - The Final Act, is set to be hosted by Lisa Riley and Anton Du Beke, with Pasha and Anya Garnis creating the show.

Robin passed away at the age of 44 in February. He had been a beloved professional on the BBC's hit dance series from 2010 to 2013, and now his colleagues are preparing to pay tribute to him with this heartfelt show.

During an appearance on Thursday's edition of Good Morning Britain, host Susanna Reid, who partnered with Robin for a Children In Need special in 2011, expressed her wish: "I would love Robin to be there at the show, I would love Robin to know what everyone was saying about him!"

This led Pasha to share his feelings with: "I was just saying, it feels like he's always around in a way, it's strange, but it feels like he's always there!" His voice wavered with emotion as he added: "I think it's still settling, the realisation he's not going to be there..." before he managed to regain his composure, reports the Mirror.

Anya, also present during the interview, chimed in with her own memories: "He was so bubbly like Pasha said, his energy was infectious. So it's very hard to understand that he's not there."

It comes as Susanna fought back tears on Good Morning Britain earlier this year as she emotionally announced Strictly Come Dancing star Robin's death aged 44 back in February.

The presenter, who had previously danced with Robin on the BBC One show, couldn't read out the breaking news announcement as she was in shock, asking co-star Ed Balls to take over instead.

After announcing Robin's death on the show, a devastated Susanna choked back tears as she paid tribute alongside co-star Richard Arnold, who was also left very emotional over the heartbreaking news.

Susanna said: "Robin was larger than life and I fell in love with him and fell in love with dancing when I danced with him back then [Children In Need's 2011 special]. He was an absolutely remarkable dancer, incredibly strong, so creative and he was just so enthusiastic about dancing. I just adored him. He was the most incredible personality."

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV X.
