Colourful knitted creations appear in Welsh town overnight ahead of Remembrance Day

A Welsh town centre has been transformed with a colourful yarn display ahead of Remembrance Day. The centre of Flint in Flintshire has been adorned in beautifully knitted art pieces on various letter boxes and bollards.

Remembrance Day this year will take place on Monday, November 11. To mark the occasion, Flintshire resident Nathan Griffiths has collaborated with knitter Anne Watties from Taunton in Somerset, who has designed the yarn pieces.

According to Nathan, they have been working on the project for several months. Nathan also explained that the two have created animal yarn display to cover a few bollards in the town to remember the animals that won medals during the two world wars, such as Winkie the pigeon, Simon the cat, Irma the dog and Olga the horse.
